I’m sorry you missed your conference. I don’t think this is a matter of your being stoppable or unstoppable. I truly believe that the universe always works in our favor. You could have been in a car accident in Canada or some other horrible thing could have happened. Your staying home may be what deters a burglar. I agree that we should always be persistent, but I also believe that sometimes we have to trust where the universe is leading us. There is a very good reason you are in Houston right now.

Hmmmm…I would give you a pass on this one! I know how exhausted you were from NSA 11. Canada!!!! I didn’t know you needed a passport to enter Canada. Maybe you were not suppose to be at that conference, Maybe God is telling you to find your own voice! I believe in you and this was just one of those times in life where it didn’t work out! and maybe for a reason… Just a thought

Thing is, a lot of people wouldn’t have done what Brittany did (congrats on the engagement BTW). Beyond the medical training there’s a authentic concern that must simply take over the brain’s “todo” list. Everything shifts from “get home on time” to “help these people.” In life and in the workplace, I venture that genuine care and concern for people can drive the actions leaders take and their effectiveness.

Bambi, this story was very inspiring. In fact, even though I am trained in CPR, I want to take the training again. I need to be prepared for situations like this. I think everyone should be. Your daughter is an inspiration to all of us. Those were true leadership qualities that she displayed so courageously.

This is great Bambi. Sometimes courage means going in a different direction than others tell you to. I remember when I started my company 8 years ago, a colleague said that I would never succeed. He came up to me about a year ago and acknowledged what a great job I had done forging my business and that I had surprised him. It made me feel really great to be acknowledged for listening to my heart and my passion and doing what I knew was of value. If I had played small, I might have stepped away and given up!
